FORGET THE MOON
A One-Minute Play
By Volodymyr Serdiuk
VOICE ONE: Speaking of Jupiter…
VOICE TWO: Yes, speaking.
VOICE ONE: Is that you?
VOICE TWO: No, this is not me.
VOICE ONE: Not Jupiter or not you?
VOICE TWO: What suspicious questions. Speaking of you, is that you?
VOICE ONE: Not sure. Not that one you have in mind.
VOICE TWO: See, that is the question for you!
VOICE ONE: What question?
VOICE TWO: Whether you – it is you?
VOICE ONE: No problem. Me or another guy.
VOICE TWO: Why?
VOICE ONE: The same feelings, the same doubts.
VOICE TWO: For sure?
VOICE ONE: Yeah. I’ve been asked about this many times before.
VOICE TWO: What answers did you give them?
VOICE ONE: Then?
VOICE TWO: Right, then. Not now.
VOICE ONE: Do I remember? What did I say then?
VOICE TWO: Why not? Those were your answers.
VOICE ONE: To whom?
VOICE TWO: Whoever. Whom did you speak to?
VOICE ONE: We had a chat with you, right now.
VOICE TWO: Ok, right now, but then to them?
VOICE ONE: No problems. Whatever when.
VOICE TWO: Means, you will live.
VOICE ONE: Why, what is wrong?
VOICE TWO: You are wounded.
VOICE ONE: Heavily?
VOICE TWO: So far.
VOICE ONE: What guarantees my life?
VOICE TWO: You are stubborn.
VOICE ONE: Means?
VOICE TWO: Keep talking, less asking.
VOICE ONE: Why not?
VOICE TWO: This time it will hurt.
VOICE ONE: Already?
VOICE TWO: Yes.
VOICE ONE: I heard the cracks.
VOICE TWO: That’s all from bones.
VOICE ONE: I feel relieved.
VOICE TWO: Means you are here.
VOICE ONE: Hello.
VOICE TWO: Hello. You are welcome in.
VOICE ONE: While who you are.
VOICE TWO: I am Jupiter.
VOICE ONE: What should I do?
VOICE TWO: Forget the Moon, fly high.
